YOUR BEATLES WALKING TOUR STARTS BY THE RIVER MERSEY
Start your Liverpool walking tour right from inside the cruise terminal & head to the Beatles statute on the Pier Head by the famous Liverpool Waterfront. You will have time to take your photo with the Fab 4 before your journey begins back into the 1960’s and the era that heralded the birth and rise of the Beatles.
LIVERPOOL'S STUNNING TOWN HALL
We continue to Liverpool Town Hall, where in 1964 the city council passed the resolution that confirmed the honour of Freeman of the City on the Beatles. If you are lucky we will be invited inside to see their names inscribed on the list of Honorary Freeman in the Entrance Hall.
MUSIC GALORE!
You will stroll through one of Liverpool’s most famous streets - Mathew Street! You will be transported back to the 1960’s to a time when the Beatles were beginning their journey to worldwide fame. You can have your picture taken next to John Lennon or Celia Black on this leg of your Beatles walk!
INSIDE THE CLUB!
As a real treat you will enter the world-famous Cavern Club, where, according to Bob Wooler, the Beatles played 292 (!) times between 1961 to 1963. Your tour guide will point out some of the highlights and you will have some time to explore for yourself and buy souvenirs.
TRADITIONAL PUBS OF LIVERPOOL
Another treat on this Liverpool Beatles walking tour is the opportunity to go into the White Star pub one of Liverpool’s traditional pubs with strong Beatles connections you will have to buy a drink though! If you are lucky you might get to sit in the seats where the Beatles sat and were paid by their former manager Alan Williams for the local gigs they played in the days before they were famous.
CASTLE STREET
Your final stop on your Beatles walking tour will include the opportunity to have your photo taken with Eleanor Rigby. The statue was gifted to the city of Liverpool by the famous entertainer Tommy Steel as a tribute to The Beatles. Dedicated to “all the lonely people” it’s not so lonely anymore as it’s a popular site for a selfie! From here you guide will walk you back to the cruise terminal and you can enjoy the rest of your time in Liverpool filled with fond memories.
